Design Around a User-Focused Information Architecture
The Fair Political Practices Commission was looking for a user-focused information architecture that would allow visitors and staff to easily access over 40,000 documents and pages from their website, even from a mobile device.
I was tasked with designing a flexible visual framework that would facilitate organizing a growing repository of content and information. I explored a handful of design directions with sketches and hi-fidelity design. We had several in person meetings with the COmmissioin to refine the proposed designs and finally, I worked closely with the development team to plan and execute interaction and functionality.
By organizing content based on user needs, users are more likely to find relevant content with just a few clicks and we were able to deliver a solution that empowered content authors to manage their content without requiring assistance from IT staff.
